**Job Summary**
We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Experience Representative to join our Neurology Department at Boston Children's Hospital. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients, families, and visitors, while also collaborating with referring providers and practices to ensure seamless patient encounters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide positive and effective customer service to support unit operations
- Collaborate with referring providers and practices to obtain required authorizations and compile patient and staff schedules
- Schedule patients and support the patient encounter
- Check In / Check Out: Greet and direct patients, families, and visitors, monitor daily schedule, and coordinate flow with clinicians/supervisor
- Reconcile payments and prepare deposits, providing record of transactions in Hospital systems
- Facilitate and direct communication with Financial Counseling
- Administrative: Record and forward messages, triage calls for urgent information or services, and initiate calls for emergency services
Requirements:
- A high school level of education, Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Prior customer service or administrative experience preferred
- The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations
- The ability to work with diverse internal and external constituencies
