Structural Steel Estimator

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Steel Estimator to join our team at GPAC, a premier structural steel fabricator serving the Dallas-Fort Worth area. As a Steel Estimator, you will play a critical role in our organization's continued growth and expansion efforts, tackling large commercial and industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct quantitative take-offs and oversee project plans, requirements, and specifications.
• Lead a team to develop accurate estimates for fabricated structural steel projects with values ranging from $1M to $30M.
• Determine labor and equipment costs, and prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and materials pricing.
• Understand project logistics and project schedule for Steel industry standards.
• Review quotes and estimates with the project team, and prepare estimates at different levels of completion.
• Coordinate pre-construction duties and meetings with owners, clients, and engineers.
• Serve as the company interface between the owner and architect.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of steel estimating experience.
• Detailing experience is not required but is a bonus.
• Advanced computer skills with estimating software.
• Extensive knowledge of construction costs and engineering principles.
• Understanding of aspects of structural steel and miscellaneous metal concepts.
