Opportunity Overview
We are seeking an experienced Medical Director for our outpatient psychiatry department located in the heart of Southern Metro. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to lead and grow our psychiatric services while collaborating with other medical specialists to provide comprehensive care to patients.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the outpatient psychiatry department, overseeing daily operations and ensuring smooth delivery of patient care
- Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Promote quality improvement initiatives and participate in performance evaluations to optimize departmental outcomes
- Mentor and educate staff members on best practices, policies, and procedures
- Foster a culture of compassion, respect, and open communication within the department and across the organization
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must possess:
- A Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from an accredited institution
- Board certification in psychiatry and completion of a psychiatry residency program
- Licenses to practice medicine in Louisiana
- At least 5 years of experience in psychiatric leadership, preferably in an outpatient setting
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
