Dental Office LPN Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled LPN to join our team at Kaiser Permanente in Portland, Oregon. As a Dental Office LPN, you will play a critical role in delivering quality patient care and providing administrative support to our clinicians.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clinical Tasks:
    • Prepare patients for office visits by ensuring all necessary tests and information are ready for review.
    • Perform focused nursing assessments and triage on routine medical conditions.
    • Recognize signs and symptoms of common medical conditions and implement interventions as delegated by clinicians.
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of individualized patient care plans.
  • Clinical Procedures:
    • Perform diagnostic tests, therapies, and procedures within the scope of practice.
    • Administer medications and provide wound care as directed by clinicians.
    • Apply and remove orthopedic appliances and other devices.
    • Collect lab specimens and label them correctly.
  • Practice Management Activities:
    • Maintain and adjust patient schedules for efficient care.
    • Respond to incoming messages and requests from patients and other departments.
    • Facilitate follow-up duties on patient care plans.
    • Coordinate patient care to support patients with complex health needs.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current Practical Nurse License (Washington) or Compact License within 6 months of hire.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
  • Demonstrated clinical nursing skills and interpersonal and customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Two years of nursing experience in an ambulatory care setting.
  • IV therapy experience or recent certification.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record systems.
