Lead Aquatic Fitness Instructor

At the Greater Philadelphia YMCA, we are seeking an experienced and passionate Aquatic Group Instructor to join our team. As an Aquatic Group Instructor, you will play a vital role in developing and conducting engaging aquatic fitness classes that promote healthy lifestyles and community building.
About the Role- We estimate the salary for this position to be around $$25-$35 per hour, based on the current market rate for similar positions in the Philadelphia area.
In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for preparing class routines within YMCA standards, providing support and encouragement to members, and ensuring their safety and well-being. You will also be expected to maintain knowledge of emergency and safety procedures, as well as stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Conduct Aquatic Fitness Classes: Create and deliver engaging and challenging aquatic fitness classes that cater to diverse age groups and fitness levels.
- Prepare Class Routines: Design and prepare class routines within YMCA standards, incorporating music and choreography to create a fun and motivating environment.
- Support Members: Provide guidance, encouragement, and support to members, helping them to achieve their fitness goals and build confidence.
- Maintain Safety Standards: Ensure the safety and well-being of members and staff, reporting any concerns or hazards to your supervisor.
- Stay Up-to-Date: Maintain knowledge of emergency and safety procedures, as well as industry developments and best practices.
- Certifications: YMCA Foundations of Group Exercise certification with experience or National certification.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
