Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Adhere to federal, state, and local laws related to drug dispensing and patient information.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to health system, pharmacy, and accreditation policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, pharmacy staff, healthcare providers, payers, and health system employees.
  • Document patient, payer, and provider communication within the pharmacy dispensing system, specialty pharmacy management system, and electronic medical record.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three to five years of retail pharmacy or specialty pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel, preferred.
  • Registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy and certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or equivalent required.
