Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team at Northern Light Mayo Hospital. As a key member of our Medical Surgical Unit, you will provide direct and indirect patient care under the direction of our nursing staff.

Responsibilities
  • Communicate and interact with patients, families, physicians, peers, and other healthcare members to ensure successful customer outcomes and maximize unit function.
  • Precept team members to job function and orient patients to hospital environment and routine.
  • Attend and serve on one unit committee or educational peer opportunity to improve quality and engagement.
  • Document all aspects of patient care in a timely manner and participate in unit quality improvement initiatives.
  • Communicate appropriate information and patient needs to oncoming staff at change of shift and to RN in a timely manner for follow-up.
  • Provide care in accordance with the patient's plan of care and label and deliver specimens per policy.
  • Maintain a safe environment complying with Northern Light Health policies and procedures, reporting and directly addressing environmental hazards and violations of patient safety policy and/or protocol when involved or observed.
Requirements
  • Required: Certified Nursing Assistant
  • Preferred: 1 year's experience in a healthcare setting
  • Education: High school diploma or GED
Working Conditions

Alternate shift schedules (day, evening, nights, weekends), lifting, moving, and loading 30 to 50 pounds.
