Music Department Head

Job Summary:

The Music Department Head will lead the development of a prayerful and singing assembly at the Catholic Diocese of Gary. This position will work closely with parish ministers to promote liturgical participation through song and challenge the community to live their faith more deeply.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Music Director to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in music ministry, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with people of all ages.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive music program that enhances the spiritual experience of our community
• Collaborate with parish ministers to plan and execute liturgies and other musical events
• Provide guidance and support to musicians and choir members
• Stay up-to-date with current trends and developments in music ministry

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A Bachelor's degree in Music or a related field
• At least 5 years of experience as a Music Director or equivalent
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
