Community Health Transformation Specialist

The Geiger Gibson Program in Community Health at The George Washington University is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Community Health Transformation Specialist to support our mission of advancing health equity through policy and research. This exciting opportunity will allow you to contribute to the nation's leading academic program focusing on community health centers and their impact on underserved populations.

About the Role:

  • You will oversee the Geiger Gibson webinar series, working closely with the Program Director and research colleagues to develop themes, identify and schedule speakers, and handle publicity and outreach.
  • Manage the Emerging Leaders program, partnering with external organizations to manage nominations, coordinate events, and promote the program.
  • Coordinate the annual Distinguished Visitor 2-day event, ensuring school-wide and departmental learning opportunities are available.
  • Relaunch the in-person community health centers policy capstone/fellowship program, working with the Program Director to plan and execute the residential learning experience.
  • Oversee the CHroniCles initiative, an online health center history archive, by writing and editing short thematic pieces, overseeing data, and engaging with health center colleagues and external vendors.
  • Ensure effective external communications, managing research report dissemination, program newsletters, social media, and maintaining the Geiger Gibson website.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization or a Master's degree or higher in a relevant field, plus 3-5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Strong program administration skills, preferably in public health, along with strong writing and editing capabilities.
  • Experience with Drupal and website management is desired.

Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 per year, depending on experience.
