Job Summary

This role requires a skilled Communications Expert to support Joint Special Operations Forces (SOF) training and exercises as a Joint SOF Trainer (Communications) IV.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in DoD communications, exercise design, scenario development, and management of Joint Life Cycle (JELC) events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, control, and analyze Joint SOF training and exercises.
  • Develop and present communications-related training seminars.
  • Serve as a Communications Analyst/Trainer during joint exercises.
  • Write Communications and Knowledge Management observation reports during CJCS exercises.
  • Provide Communications and KM guidance to Combatant Command and Theater Special Operations Command (TSOC) communications teams.
  • Develop observation and training plans.
  • Coordinate and interface with US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) and TSOC exercise planners.
  • Operate, maintain, and understand Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence (C4I) systems at the joint tactical, operational, and strategic levels.

Requirements

  • Current, active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance.
  • Minimum 10 years of DoD communications experience.
  • More than 10 years' experience in exercise design, scenario development, and management of Joint Life Cycle (JELC) events.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience coordinating with the training audience and developing realistic scenarios to facilitate their training objectives.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in real-world Operational Headquarters (SOJTF, CJSOTF, CJSOAC, etc.).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in communications connectivity with communication platforms: KU/X/KA Band Satellite systems, UHF/VHF radio, data systems, mobile ad-hoc networking, mesh networking systems, tactical SATCOM, LMR systems, phone systems, and COP applications.
  • Demonstrated expertise in oral and written communications to explain communication network and requirements.
  • Working knowledge of DISA DISN network services, architecture, configuration, certification processes, and procedures, CISCO, LAN/WAN, fiber, POTs, and NSA-approved encryption devices (Taclan, KIV, KG, Cylink) equipment suite programming, deployment, and integration.
  • Working knowledge of Software-Defined Networking (SDN) versions.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Host-Based Security System (HBSS) and Automated Continuous Assessment and Hardening System (ACAS).
  • Presentation, communication, organization skills, and proficiency in all-source analytical support tools.
  • Outstanding communication skills, influencing abilities, and client focus.
  • Professional proficiency in English is required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to qualify for and maintain WWC liability insurance through a clean driving record.

Salary Range:$120,000 - $180,000 per year
