Century Group is partnering with a client to fill an AP Specialist position. The estimated starting salary range for this role is $41,600 to $54,080 per year.

Job Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable Reconciliation: The successful candidate will reconcile vendor statements and correct any discrepancies. This involves analyzing accounts payable transactions, identifying errors, and taking corrective action to ensure accurate payments.

Process Development and Implementation: The AP Specialist will develop and implement accounts payable procedures to optimize payment processing and reduce late fees. This includes creating and maintaining records of payments, ensuring compliance with company policies, and collaborating with other departments to streamline transaction processing.

Payment and Record Management: The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely payment of invoices, maintaining accurate records of payments, and resolving discrepancies and issues related to invoices. They will also perform monthly reconciliations of accounts payable transactions and provide documentation and support for audits.

Closing Activities and Compliance: As part of the month-end closing activities, the AP Specialist will assist with tasks such as general ledger functions, month-end/year-end close processes, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

Qualifications and Experience:

A high school diploma or GED is required, with an associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in accounts payable, preferably in the apparel or transportation industry. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, is essential. Familiarity with accounting software and ERP systems is also desirable.

The successful candidate will possess effective communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as excellent organizational and time management skills. They will be able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines, ensuring seamless transaction processing and minimizing disruptions.
