About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Veterinarian to join our team at Oklahoma City Inc. as a key member of the Animal Welfare Division. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to make a meaningful contribution to the health and well-being of animals in our community.

Job Summary

The Veterinarian will be responsible for supervising, coordinating, and monitoring the veterinary medicine program and related functions within the Development Services Department. This includes overseeing the health and care of animals in the facility, coordinating professional and technical veterinary staff functions, training, and work activities. The successful candidate will also provide preventative, diagnostic, and medical treatment and surgeries for impounded, quarantined, foster, sick, and/or injured domestic, exotic, or wild animals and livestock.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate veterinary medicine program activities
  • Oversee the health and care of animals in the facility
  • Provide preventative, diagnostic, and medical treatment and surgeries for various animal species
  • Coordinate professional and technical veterinary staff functions, training, and work activities
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations governing veterinary medicine
Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess a strong background in veterinary medicine, including knowledge of domestic, exotic, or wild animals, and livestock. The ideal candidate will have excellent management skills, the ability to analyze data, and strong verbal and written communication skills.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of veterinary medicine, including pharmacology, pathology, and anatomy
  • Experience working with diverse animal species, including domestic, exotic, and wild animals, and livestock
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to supervise and coordinate staff
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect, examine, analyze, and interpret data from various sources
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with staff, clients, and other stakeholders
Salary and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $95,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, and paid time off.
