Cybersecurity Incident Response Specialist

About This Role:
The Cybersecurity Incident Response Analyst plays a crucial role in identifying, analyzing, and mitigating cybersecurity incidents to enhance the university's security posture. This position involves collaborating closely with the SIOC team to optimize resource use, improve system performance, and ensure high levels of end-user satisfaction by maintaining a proactive and efficient response to security threats within the university's IT infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, analyze, and mitigate cybersecurity incidents to minimize their impact on the university's operations.
- Collaborate with the SIOC team to optimize resource use, improve system performance, and ensure high levels of end-user satisfaction.
- Develop and maintain a proactive and efficient response to security threats within the university's IT infrastructure.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Three years of relevant experience in cybersecurity, with a strong focus on incident detection, analysis, and response.
- Demonstrated proficiency in using cybersecurity tools and technologies, such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, and threat intelligence platforms.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively articulating security risks and incident reports to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
