Opportunity Overview

The Department of Surgery at Stamford Health seeks an experienced general surgeon with fellowship training in surgical critical care to join our Trauma Division. This position is 50% Trauma Surgery and 50% General Surgery, with a focus on trauma care, surgical critical care, and teaching surgery residents and medical students.

About the Role

This senior-level position involves providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. As a key member of our Trauma Division, you will work closely with our team of surgeons to deliver exceptional outcomes for patients. Your expertise in surgical critical care will be essential in guiding the care of critically ill patients, while your ability to teach and mentor residents will help shape the next generation of surgical leaders.

Responsibilities

* Provide surgical care for trauma patients, including emergency surgeries and critical care management* Teach and mentor surgical residents and medical students* Collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive patient care* Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and experience

Requirements

* Board certification in General Surgery* Fellowship training in Surgical Critical Care* Proven track record of success in a similar role* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
