Job Overview

The role of Service Technician at Southern Tire Mart involves performing tire service and repair work, as well as basic general service functions on customer vehicles.

This position requires the ability to mount, balance, rotate, and repair all types of tires, including passenger, light trucks, large trucks, and industrial tires.

Fleet inspections and assisting with scrap tires are also key responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills and be able to troubleshoot and diagnose tire-related issues.

Responsibilities
  • Mounting, balancing, rotating, and repairing tires for various vehicle types
  • Troubleshooting and diagnosing tire-related issues, including commercial tire and trailer repairs
  • Conducting fleet inspections to ensure vehicles are in good working condition
  • Assisting with scrap tire management
  • Operating company vehicles safely and efficiently
Requirements
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and excellent driving record
  • Ability to lift and/or move tires weighing 30-250 lbs. with or without mechanical assistance
  • Physical stamina to perform repetitive and sustained exertions
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
