We are seeking a highly skilled Component Development Engineer, Optical & AR Display Modules to join our Snap Lab team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing complex component development from concept to production, working closely with internal teams to develop and integrate best-in-class Optical & AR Display Modules for future generations of Spectacles.
Key Responsibilities- Manage complex component development from concept to production
- Work with internal teams to develop and integrate best-in-class Optical & AR Display Modules
- Supervise fabs & contract manufacturers to improve efficiency, yields, failure analysis, and overall operational excellence
- Define build plans and schedules for subcomponent suppliers and module integrators and drive on-time delivery of components
- Investigate and develop component and manufacturing processes
- Lead failure analysis efforts and integrate learnings into future design iterations
- Roadmap ownership for specific components
- Deep experience with display systems and/or optical modules, manufacturing and test processes
- Hands on experience bringing up, solving problems at factories (FATP, Supplier, etc)
- Experience working and collaborating closely with external partners and suppliers
- Ability to identify and mitigate risk during new development and manufacturing
- Strong program management skills including excellent communication, coordination, and documentation
- Ability to thrive with rapidly changing or ambiguous requirements
- PhD or master's degree in optics, physics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science or related field
- Experience with Optical Coatings, ACF processing, Liquid Crystal technology
