About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Critical Care Nurse Practitioner to join our team in the Trauma Department at DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital. As a key member of our multidisciplinary trauma team, you will utilize your advanced knowledge and clinical expertise to deliver high-quality patient care.

Job Description
  • Assess the health status of patients through performing preliminary health histories, physical exams, and analyzing data to formulate diagnoses.
  • Develop prioritized, comprehensive problem lists and prioritize/prescribe interventions and diagnostic tests in collaboration with physicians or according to established protocols.
  • Prescribe and implement trauma interventions identified in the interdisciplinary plan of care.
  • Perform patient visits according to patient condition, no less frequently than daily, to evaluate and document patient progress.
Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing expert trauma care to patients, families, and healthcare providers.
  • Maintaining current knowledge and clinical expertise of trauma care through ongoing involvement in professional activities.
  • Acting as a patient/family advocate to ensure trauma care services are delivered in an ethical and culturally sensitive manner.
  • Collaborating with the multidisciplinary trauma team to develop and implement effective care plans.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A Master's degree in nursing from an accredited nurse practitioner training program.
  • State of Michigan Nurse Specialty Certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Two years of clinical experience as a professional nurse.
  • National certification in advanced practice nursing specialty from one of the following certification bodies: American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), National Certification Board of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and Nurses (NCBPNPN), or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
