About the Role

The Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities is seeking a skilled Substance Abuse Prevention Coordinator to join our team. This full-time position will play a critical role in developing and implementing effective prevention programs aimed at reducing substance abuse among individuals with developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and implement evidence-based prevention strategies
  • Conduct needs assessments, program evaluations, and data analysis to inform program development
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and service providers
  • Provide training and technical assistance on substance abuse prevention best practices
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including program outcomes and participant data

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as social work, public health, or behavioral science
  • At least 2 years of experience in substance abuse prevention, treatment, or recovery support services
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills
  • Familiarity with Ohio's developmental disabilities system and relevant laws and regulations
