Electrical Engineer Job Description

Halff Associates is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team in San Antonio, Austin, Richardson, and McAllen, Texas, and Little Rock, Arkansas. As a Licensed Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for planning and preparing engineered contract documentation for assigned projects, working with or as an electrical Project Manager to meet deadlines, aiding in or providing engineering decisions, and collaborating with other engineers, architects, and/or owners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement electrical project construction documents, plans, specifications, design analyses, and cost estimates for robust and reliable electrical/lighting system designs.
  • Conduct on-site visits to collect existing condition information, attend meetings, respond to construction inquiries, and report on-site observations.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining client relationships and help mentor and develop the skills of junior electrical designers and engineers.
  • Collaborate with other engineers, architects, and/or owners to ensure project success.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Must be a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Texas or have the ability through NCEES to be licensed in Texas and other states.
  • 5-10 years of experience in engineering, designing, and producing lighting, lighting control, power distribution, and branch circuiting for Commercial, Industrial, and Institutional projects.
  • Experienced in lighting/lighting control, power design, and distribution of normal and emergency power systems.
  • Knowledge of the NEC, IECC, ASHRAE 90.1, and associated NFPA standards.
  • Familiarity with SKM Systems Analysis or ETAP software.
  • High-level interpersonal relationship skills, proficiency in communication skills, and organization skills.
