About the Role

Metropolitan Healthcare Services Inc. is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our Interventional Radiology team on a 13-week contract basis.

Job Type: Contract, 4x10 schedule, Days with vascular surgery coverage and call responsibilities.

Salary Package: $60 hourly, paid weekly at an estimated gross pay of $3,716 per week.

Key Responsibilities

As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for producing high-quality radiologic images using various equipment and technology. You will also work collaboratively with colleagues to resolve problems efficiently and provide excellent patient care.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated competence in operating imaging equipment, reporting malfunctions, and maintaining accurate records. Additionally, you should possess strong communication skills, empathy, and a commitment to confidentiality.

Main Duties:

  • Prepare patients for examinations and assist Radiologists during procedures.
  • Demonstrate expertise in operating imaging equipment and report any issues to the management.
  • Complete assigned procedures promptly and utilize downtime to assist others or perform room turnover.
  • Maintain medication security and adhere to authorized personnel protocols.
  • Provide health care services to all age groups, demonstrating competency in interpersonal relationships.

Documentation and Information Management:

  • Utilize Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS), and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) effectively.
  • Participate in hospital performance improvement activities as warranted.
  • Maintain confidentiality using personal passwords and patient care modules.
  • Answer technical inquiries from physicians or hospital staff while upholding good phone etiquette.

Requirements:

  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  • At least two years of experience in diagnostic imaging.
  • NYS License and VIR Certification.
