Job Summary
This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. As a Security and Safety Care Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of patients, visitors, and staff at our hospital and clinic. You will be the first point of contact for security-related matters and will be responsible for responding to emergency situations.
About the Role
As a Security and Safety Care Specialist, you will be required to conduct regular security patrols, inspect equipment, and report any potential hazards. You will also be responsible for providing leadership and direction to staff in crisis situations and for participating in safety and emergency management drills.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular security patrols of the hospital and clinic to ensure the safety and security of patients, visitors, and staff.
- Inspect equipment, including radios, fire extinguishers, and panic alarms, to ensure they are functioning properly.
- Report any potential hazards or incidents to management or other appropriate staff.
- Provide leadership and direction to staff in crisis situations.
- Participate in safety and emergency management drills.
- Assist with transporting deceased persons to the morgue and releasing to the appropriate organization.
- Interact with law enforcement officers and assist as needed.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- An Associate's degree or equivalent work experience.
- 2-3 years of experience in healthcare, security, military, law enforcement, corrections, or Fire/EMS.
- Ability to maintain a calm composure under stressful conditions.
- Ability to provide leadership and direction under stressful situations.
- Ability to use effective and appropriate people skills.
- Ability to prepare clear, concise reports and routine correspondence.
- Ability to gather facts and evidence.
What We Offer
Dartmouth Health offers a competitive salary, ranging from $65,000 to $85,000 per year, depending on experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
Location
This role is based in Hanover, New Hampshire, with a 10-hour shift schedule of Thursday to Sunday, 11:30 pm to 9 am.
