About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Dosimetrist to join our team at Ochsner Health. As a key member of our radiation oncology department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of radiation therapy to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform patient treatment planning, utilizing advanced software and equipment to create personalized radiation therapy plans.
  • Document dosimetry and treatment records, maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient information.
  • Conduct special procedures, including radioactive implantations, under the guidance of senior staff.
  • Manage performance improvement initiatives, identifying areas for growth and implementing strategies for enhancement.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care and optimal treatment outcomes.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited program in medical dosimetry or radiation therapy technology.
  • 1 year of experience as a full-time medical dosimetrist, with expertise in treatment planning software and radiation oncology equipment.
  • Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and certification in medical dosimetry by the American Association of Medical Dosimetrists.
  • Licensure from the State of Louisiana.
