Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Healthcare Registration Specialist to join our team at Penn State Health, working in an evening shift. This role is part of our Revenue Cycle Patient Access department and requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

About the Role

The Healthcare Registration Specialist will be responsible for securing accurate patient information, verifying insurance details, and registering patients for various services. This includes working with different departments across the hospital, such as Emergency Department, Surgery, Endoscopy, Radiology, and Laboratory.

Responsibilities
  • Secure accurate patient information for pre-registration and registration purposes.
  • Verify insurance details and benefit eligibility for patients.
  • Register patients for various services, including outpatient services performed in a hospital setting.
  • Work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with other staff members to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information with discretion.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least six months of experience in a customer service setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with medical terminology.
