Veterinary Technician

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Emergency Veterinary Technician to join our team at Animal Emergency of University Park. As a key member of our emergency medicine team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to a positive, respectful hospital culture.
Responsibilities:- Use your understanding of common diseases and conditions to accurately triage incoming patients and provide appropriate care.
- Administer medications, set up and monitor IV fluid therapy, and perform advanced diagnostic techniques, including ultrasonography and paracentesis.
- Participate in patient rounds to ensure continuity of care and be trained to perform CPR.
- Collect samples, perform diagnostic tests, and provide nursing care tasks, such as placing and maintaining urinary catheters and nasogastric tubes.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a veterinary technician, preferably in emergency medicine, with CVT certification a plus.
- Strong understanding of basic veterinary knowledge, including restraint, phlebotomy, anesthesia, and laboratory equipment and procedures.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
