Correctional Counselor

The Correctional Counselor - Social Justice/Inclusion will focus on adult inmate release planning and perform case management/counseling, including classification. This role promotes the development of self and staff through providing training. As a role model, the Correctional Counselor will provide guidance and direction for inmates in a correctional facility, enhancing facility security and promoting long-term pro-social behaviors.
Responsibilities
- Provide counseling and interact with inmates to develop, implement, and follow through on treatment plans.
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Utilize Microsoft Office products.
Requirements
- Advance knowledge in Social Services, Counseling, Criminal Justice, or other areas related to human services or equivalent directly related work experience.
- Experience working in adult counseling or corrections.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
