**Job Summary**

Assists in evaluating and implementing pharmacy patient care, collaborating with multiple sources to obtain and document medication information. Performs activities of a Pharmacy Technician, as needed.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Collaborates with patients, family members, outside pharmacies, physician offices, and other healthcare facilities to obtain and document medication information.
  • Assists in discharge planning, including identifying patients unable to afford medication and initiating prior authorization processes.
  • Participates in implementing and evaluating Quality Assurance, Performance Improvement, and Compliance programs.
  • Assists Registered Pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medication, including filling, packaging, labeling, and stocking unit dose carts.
  • Maintains records and reports, including IV records, medication orders, and inventory control.

**Requirements**

  • Associates Degree, required.
  • Active Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPT) certification, required.
  • Current license as a registered pharmacy technician in NYS, required when hired on/after 4/25/21.
  • Minimum of three (3) years retail pharmacy experience, required.
  • Strong working-knowledge of medications, including generic/brand names, standard doses, and classes of drugs used for various conditions.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to display compassion to patients, families, and co-workers.
