About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Clinician to join our team at New Orleans East Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare community, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and promoting a culture of excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment for patients, adhering to infection control procedures and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in clinic flow, assisting with patient arrival, preparation for examination, treatment, and procedures, and recording vital signs.
  • Prepare patients for examination, treatment, and procedures, and identify abnormal values and emergent situations.
  • Ensure continuity of care, comfort, efficiency, and consistent communication with patients and families.
  • Administer prescribed medication and/or vaccinations, and maintain medications according to proper storage, logs, and disposal procedures.
  • Gather clinical documentation and obtain medical records as needed or requested by medical providers.
  • Document clinical tasks, testing, and procedures in patient medical records, and navigate electronic medical records to obtain records, update patient information, and schedule follow-up appointments.
  • Collect specimens for testing and/or transport, and maintain patient confidentiality and privacy of personal health information.
  • Obtain laboratory and radiology results, medical records, update patient demographic data, and gather clinical documentation.
  • Ensure patient safety, environmental, infection control, quality improvement, and other regulatory standards and compliance, and prepare safety reports and report safety hazards to appropriate personnel.
  • Initiate patient and family education using appropriate resources and continuum of care services.
  • Contribute to the team by assisting others without being asked.
Requirements
  • One (1) year Clinic Nurse experience required.
  • Current nursing license to practice in Louisiana and as defined by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing (RN or LPN).
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
