Job Summary:

The Unit Manager Registered Nurse is responsible for overseeing the entire operation of a nursing unit in a long-term care facility. This role requires strong leadership skills, effective communication, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

This position involves performing general management functions, including hiring, disciplining, and evaluating staff members. The Unit Manager Registered Nurse will also plan and facilitate meetings, manage area responsibilities, and participate in developing programs that promote recruitment, retention, and continuing education of nursing staff.

Required Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you should have a graduate degree from an accredited school of nursing and a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license. A minimum of three years of nursing experience, with one year in a long-term care environment, is required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as basic computer skills, are essential for this position.

Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on location and experience
