ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher to join our team. As a Teacher, you will play a vital role in increasing student achievement by implementing instructional practices and strategies endorsed by and in accordance with ChanceLight policies.
Responsibilities:- Deliver high-quality instruction using curriculum materials and educational software.
- Develop daily lesson plans and classroom schedules that meet state and school requirements.
- Collaborate with special education teachers and support staff to provide instructional support and approved modifications to the curriculum.
- Implement standards for student behavior to ensure a safe, secure, and effective learning environment.
- Maintain regular contact with students' parents/guardians to inform them of student progress, areas of difficulty, and any changes or situations in home life that may affect school performance.
- Participate in team meetings to address specific student and parent concerns.
- Assess student progress through consistent review of classroom data collection and recording systems.
- Stay up-to-date with research-based practices and developments in the subject area.
- Respond constructively to formal and informal feedback.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in education or a closely related field.
- Meet all state teaching certification and/or licensing requirements.
- Prior experience working with curriculum development, differentiation, and instruction in an education and/or classroom setting.
- Prior experience working with students in an alternative and/or special education program setting preferred.
- Prior experience in relevant grade level and/or subject matter.
- Advanced oral and written communication, instruction, curriculum, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem-solving, and decision-making ability.
- Highly skilled in working with staff and students with diverse needs at various levels.
- Proficiency in providing motivation and having critical conversations with students that help move them toward realistic goals and next steps.
- Knowledge of relevant technology, including experience with instructional technology, Microsoft Office Suite, database entry, and basic office equipment.
