Arauco is seeking a Production Technician/Forklift Operator to join our team. As a Production Technician/Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for operating automated strapping machines and safely operating forklifts to stage product on the line and remove product and store it in our warehouse.

Responsibilities

  • Safety: You will report all safety incidents and take pride in knowing our employees go home safely. You will be responsible for completing rolling stock operator safety checklist sheets at the start of each shift and always use downtime for housekeeping duties to prevent hazards.
  • Quality: You will closely monitor product for quality concerns and communicate issues with the team for effective resolution. You will operate the forklift, requiring constant bending, twisting, and lifting throughout the shift.
  • Technicality: You will complete product changes through efficient and effective operation at the bander and in-feed positions. You will place runners in the runner dispenser and require constant bending, twisting, and lifting throughout the shift.
  • Adaptability: You will set up and operate the bander computer and ticket printer while constantly monitoring equipment and process. You will stage units, following the picklist, consuming tickets to order, and printing take-back tickets.
  • Communication: You will communicate with the supervisor, lead tech, press operator, lay-up operator, and lift driver regarding production. You will communicate effectively through electronic mail, checking and responding to emails during each shift as required.

Requirements

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Additional education is a plus.
  • Experience: Prior use of a forklift (12 months) and prior work in a manufacturing environment are preferred.
  • Skills: You must have good interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. You must be able to read, analyze, and interpret business documents. You must be able to do fundamental mathematics as it pertains to your position.
  • Physical Requirements: You must be able to move freely throughout the facility, including climbing stairs and ladders. You must be able to bend, stoop, and crouch as necessary to inspect and maintain equipment. You must be able to lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
