Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) professional to join our team as a Project HSE Lead. This role will play a critical part in promoting a positive safety culture and developing, implementing, and administering effective HSE programs across all aspects of the project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote and support an HSE culture from within by leading the implementation of core HSE programs, policies, and initiatives.
  • Oversee tendering for Subsea projects and participate in incident investigations.
  • Advise on specialist areas, including fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery, environmental, and occupational diseases.
  • Assist with case management and follow up on occupational injuries/illnesses.
  • Coach employees on Risk Assessments, at-risk activities, unsafe conditions, and safety improvement opportunities.
  • Create and modify HSE policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Act as a steward for Environmental management, including SWPPP, RCRA, SPCC, etc.
  • Review bid tender specifications and submit bid HSE deliverables to the bid coordinator.
  • Develop project HSE document deliverables, including HSE Plan, Emergency Response Plan, bridging documents, Self Verification Plan, and Subcontractor Management Plan.
  • Monitor regulatory compliance, conduct site assessments, and train employees to improve skill levels.
  • Lead or facilitate incident investigations and guide the team on the correct use of the TOPSET tool.
  • Develop KPI reports and facilitate HAZID workshops, providing recommendations on measures to control hazards and mitigate risk.
Requirements
  • At least five years of related SURF project operational experience or 5 years related HSE experience in SURF Projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of Federal, State, and Local HSE regulations, including OSHA, BSEE, SEMS, TCEQ, EPA, etc.
  • Ability to identify deviations from standards and advanced analytical and problem-solving skills related to functional areas and understanding impact to the overall business.
  • Proficient in applicable software applications, including MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Subject matter expert in Incident Investigation and Reporting/Root Cause Analysis, Risk Assessment and/or Bowtie, Certified Lead Auditor, and Risk Assessment (Hazard Identification [HAZID] or Hazard Operability [HAZOP] studies).
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in an office environment approximately 75% of the time, using standard office equipment. The remaining 25% of the time will be spent in workshop and manufacturing environments, which involves moderate exposure to hazardous and non-hazardous wastes, noise levels, inclement weather, and shop machinery.

The candidate must be able to obtain TWIC, BOSIET, and OGUK physical. Potential for extended walking, bending, climbing, stooping, and moderate lifting daily. Periodic assistance handling containerized chemicals and wastes by hand or mechanical means.

Exposure to workshop and yard area in an environment with dirt, grease, and dust. At times work in hot and cold weather.
