Field Service Coordinator

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Dispatcher to join our team at Alta Equipment Group. As a Field Service Dispatcher, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of our services to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dispatch Technicians to handle service requests and PMs
  • Take, record, and prioritize customer calls for service requests
  • Compile and complete customer summary invoicing
  • Manage field truck expenses, work orders, and truck maintenance
  • Answer internal and customer service calls
  • Open and close work orders, including accurately recording storylines into each order
  • Schedule periodic maintenance for customer equipment
  • Assist Technicians with finding technical data
  • Incorporate Alta's Guiding Principles into daily activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Previous dispatching, warranty administrative, or mechanic experience is highly preferred
  • A strong technical knowledge base is desired to answer Technician questions
  • Must have strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Previous ERP experience is a plus
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of the geographic area
  • Must be willing to answer phone calls throughout all times of the day/night
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of coworkers, as well as customers

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

Regularly will use sit, use hands, talk/hear; Frequently will reach with hands; Occasionally will stand, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, taste/smell.

Language Skills:

Intermediate: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills:

Intermediate: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:

Intermediate: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
