The Stanford Graduate School of Business is launching a new initiative seeking a Director to work with faculty directors to solidify the GSB's pre-eminence as a top business school for investing. The Director will report to the Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and be responsible for understanding the opportunities and needs of the GSB in this space.

This includes creating the initial mission, strategy, and plan, aligning with the specific needs of stakeholders, including relevant faculty, students, alumni, and practitioners/employers. The Director will also pilot initial programs, propose an organizational structure, and support offerings such as academic courses, student programs, research opportunities, and professional community development.

This role presents an opportunity to envision and design a roadmap amplifying and expanding on existing strengths and driving new programs with high impact on industry and various GSB stakeholders, including faculty, students, and alumni.

The primary responsibilities of this position include:

  • Providing leadership direction for program design and initiative development
  • Defining operational activities, allocating staffing and resources, and providing strategic advice to faculty directors and senior management
  • Developing vision, strategy, goals, and resource development in consultation with faculty directors

This involves shaping research and teaching programs, defining scope, hiring, and guiding program staff and instructors, assessing program efficacy, aligning needs across multiple internal stakeholders, developing relationships with critical stakeholders, representing initiative stakeholders at senior-level meetings and conferences, working with the development team to secure ongoing financial resources, and maintaining the financial budget and long-range financial planning.

To be successful in this position, you will bring advanced education or experience, five or more years of relevant start-up experience, planning and executing programs, managing staff, experience managing budgets and financial plans, and excellent leadership skills.

We are offering a salary range of $164,922 to $220,000 per year. At Stanford University, base pay represents one aspect of our comprehensive rewards package.
