Job Summary
This Clinical Patient Representative Specialist role is responsible for greeting and welcoming patients to Allina Health at in-person appointments or by providing support via phone. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet, welcome, and perform the registration process with patients in person or by phone
- Collect demographic and insurance information, provide appointment-specific forms, and obtain necessary documentation.
- Assist patients with telephone encounters, identify key words for de-escalation techniques as needed, and direct patients to appointments or procedures.
- Collect co-pays and/or remaining balances
- Obtain signatures from patients as needed, respond to questions regarding financial assistance programs, and perform end-of-day reconciliation.
- May participate in prescription refill order processing as appropriate.
- Manage and organize the patient care lobby and provide departmental support
- Clean and disinfect areas, restock supplies, schedule appointments, and assist with office communication needs.
- Perform weekly downtime checks and actively participate in staff meetings.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years old with education and/or experience meeting required functional competencies.
- One year of basic computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or vocational degree.
- Zero to two years of experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, Excel).
- Zero to two years of customer service, clerical, or business office environment experience.
- Zero to two years of medical terminology knowledge.
Estimated Salary
$43,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience.
