We are seeking an Advanced Clinical Coding Specialist to join our team at the University of Texas Medical Branch. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to accurately assign ICD-10-CM diagnoses and ICD-10-PCS procedure codes.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing patient discharge encounters for accurate coding and sequencing of diagnoses and procedures. This will involve analyzing medical records, identifying relevant information, and assigning appropriate codes in EPIC Encoder.

Requirements:

  • ">
  • High school diploma or equivalent and three years of experience in inpatient coding">
  • Proficiency in ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding systems">
  • AHIMA certification (RHIT, RHIA, or CCS)">
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team">
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills">
  • Commitment to staying up-to-date with industry developments and best practices">

Compensation and Benefits:

The salary for this role is $65,000 per year, commensurate with experience. Additionally, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
