Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Enrollment Services Coordinator to join our team at the Houston Journal of Health Law & Policy. This role will provide high-level professional customer service to students, faculty, and staff, and the community at the Enrollment Services Welcome Center.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Customer Service and Support: Coordinate service for Welcome Center walk-in customers and provide advanced triage support for the areas of Undergraduate Admissions, Scholarships & Financial Aid, Student Business Services, and the Office of the University Registrar.
  2. Staff Supervision and Development: Hire, train, and supervise student staff; develop staffing schedules to ensure consistent, high-level customer service.
  3. Communication and Problem-Solving: Communicate effectively and professionally with students, internal departments, and external entities to resolve difficult and complex customer issues, investigate customer service complaints, and assist with or coordinate their resolution.
  4. Reporting and Analysis: Prepare recurring and ad-hoc reports to analyze and pro-actively improve services and training; develop innovative ways to implement strategies to address, maintain, or improve performance.
  5. Professional Development: Participate in professional development activities; create and maintain training materials and may conduct training for staff and new employees.
  6. System Utilization: Utilize advanced system software to troubleshoot customer problems, log customer information for reporting and resolution purposes.
  7. Policy and Procedure Knowledge: Remain up to date on the state, federal, and university rules, policies, and procedures; guide junior-level staff on the rule, policy, or procedure interpretations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and 1 year of experience
  • Thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline
  • Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related, 4-year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program
  • Minimum of 1 year of directly job-related experience

  • Higher Education experience
  • Service leadership skills including mutual respect, active listening, and responsiveness
  • Ability to clearly interpret and implement policies and procedures
  • Ability to interact with all levels of internal and external constituents
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
