Surgical Technologist Role at Cleveland Clinic

As a Surgical Technologist at Cleveland Clinic, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest quality patient care during surgical procedures. Working in our Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC), you will primarily care for patients with orthopaedic conditions, utilizing your expertise to set up sterile tables, ensure proper supplies and equipment are available, and maintain a sterile field.

Responsibilities:
• Set up sterile tables and ensure appropriate supplies, drugs, and equipment are available during surgery
• Assist surgeons and registered nurses during procedures
• Perform various functions, such as checking supplies and equipment, setting up sterile tables, performing appropriate counts, draping the sterile field, passing instruments to the surgeon and assistant during the procedure, preparing sterile dressing, and cleaning instruments for terminal sterilization

Requirements:
• Completion of a surgical technology program accredited through the CAAHEP or ABHES, or completion of a military surgical technology program, or certification as a Surgical Technologist (acceptable certifications include TS-C through the National Center for Competency Training or CST through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting)
• Personal Protective Equipment: Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required
