Medical Language Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Medical Language Specialist to join our team at Baylor Scott & White Health. As a Medical Language Specialist, you will play a vital role in maintaining electronic health records efficiently and accurately by transcribing patient medical information from healthcare professionals into our transcription system.
Key Responsibilities
Interpret and process doctor-transcribed medical information to contribute to patient healthcare
Utilize various software tools to accurately document patient visits, pathology, radiology, operations, and other procedures
Assist in codifying diagnoses, treatment plans, and medications using universally accepted healthcare language
Partner professionally in a medical team to ensure comprehensive, insightful, and up-to-date patient documentation
Regularly update knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and practices to maintain best possible performance in the role
Requirements
Proficiency in medical terminology and a good understanding of healthcare documentation
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with an eye for details
Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment, but also comfortable taking on tasks autonomously
Aptitude in using various computer programs, including healthcare-related software
Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and workflows
