About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled UX Designer II to join our team at Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. in the role of Database UX Design Expert. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing user experiences for our cloud database services.

Your primary focus will be on creating intuitive and user-friendly interfaces that meet the needs of our customers. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and stakeholders, to ensure that our database services are aligned with customer needs and expectations.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of user-centered design principles, as well as experience with design tools such as Sketch, Photoshop, and InVision. You will also need to be able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop user experiences for cloud database services
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with customer needs and expectations
  • Develop and maintain design standards and guidelines for database services
  • Conduct user research and usability testing to inform design decisions
  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in UX design
  • 3+ years of experience delivering design solutions as a UX designer or interaction designer
  • Available online portfolio
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a collaborative team and working directly with developers for implementation of designs
  • Experience in visual design expertise demonstrated through mockups and style guides
  • Experience acquiring user data and creating personas and journey maps
  • Knowledge of best practices for information architecture and design
  • Strong verbal communication and presentation skills
