Human Resources Generalist

Canvas Inc. is seeking a skilled Human Resources Generalist to join our corporate office in Huntsville, AL. This is an onsite position that requires a team player who can provide HR support and solutions to our employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Maintain employee data in various filing systems and using organizational tools.
- Assist with benefits administration activities, including coordination with third-party administrators and carriers, research, negotiation, and implementation of employee benefits plans.
- Back-up for conducting new employee orientation, including benefits, timekeeping, and company policies/procedures.
- Support the workforce by providing operational and organizational resources to managers and employees.
- Assist with onboarding activities, including orientation, I-9, E-Verify, employee file creation, and timekeeping training for new hires.
- Tracks and administers our tuition reimbursement program.
- Assists with annual events, such as external annual reporting, performance reviews, engagement activities, and awards.
- Cross-training with benefits administration.
- Work with the HR team to develop process improvements for critical policies and practices.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field.
- Minimum three years of human resources experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent time-management skills with the ability to prioritize complex issues and meet deadlines.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Demonstrate ability to work with minimal supervision on projects and initiatives in required time frames.
- Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
- Detail-oriented with demonstrated project management and analytical skills.
