Accounts Payable Associate Job Description

We're a growing company that provides an all-inclusive commercial ice machine subscription to business owners nationwide. Our mission is to change the industry for the better, and we're looking for a skilled Accounts Payable Associate to join our team.

As a member of our team, you'll be responsible for month-end close procedures and providing support in the accounts payable function. You'll ensure payments are completed and expenses are controlled by processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices according to established policies and procedures in an efficient, timely, and accurate manner.

Responsibilities:

• Perform month-end close tasks
• Prepare account reconciliations
• Assist in financial reporting process
• Charge expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports; record entries
• Pay vendors by monitoring discount opportunities; verify federal ID numbers; schedule and prepare checks; resolve purchase orders, contracts, invoices, or payment discrepancies and documentation; ensure credit is received for outstanding memos
• Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions
• Set up new vendors; process credit applications and W9 administration
• Assist with 1099 preparation
• Responsible for accounting process and procedure creation
• Assist with year-end financial audit requested paperwork and documents
• Work directly with vendors and team members on inquiries
• Perform other duties as assigned or requested

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's in accounting
• 1+ years of relevant work experience
• Knowledge of general accounting principles, bookkeeping procedures, and accounts payable
• Demonstrated track record of interacting and working effectively with others
• Working knowledge of various computer programs including Microsoft Office with an emphasis in Excel
• Strong ability to work independently with minimal supervision; as well as strong team player that works well in a collaborative environment
• Understand how to get the job done in the face of challenges
• Deal with uncertainty and time pressures
• Good problem-solving skills, detail-oriented, and ability to follow through to conclusion
• Excellent organizational skills
