Infection Preventionist

Job Description

PruittHealth is seeking a dedicated Infection Preventionist to join our team. As an integral part of our healthcare center, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of infection prevention and control.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement infection prevention and control strategies to minimize healthcare-associated infections and promote resident safety.
• Conduct surveillance and data analysis to identify areas for improvement and track trends in infection rates.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to educate staff on best practices in infection prevention and control.
• Assess immunization status, administer vaccines, and educate residents and staff on immunization protocols.
• Provide expert guidance on infection control policies and procedures, including hand hygiene, personal protective equipment (PPE) usage, and environmental cleaning.

Requirements:

• A minimum of three years of clinical experience in an acute care or long-term care setting, with a focus on infection prevention and control.
• An Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), professional training in medical technology, microbiology, or epidemiology, or other related training.
• A current, unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse (RN).

Estimated Salary:$ 65,000 per year, based on national averages for similar positions in the United States.
