Job Summary

As a Patient Navigator Manager at the University of California, you will play a vital role in providing non-clinical support, guidance, and assistance to patients and families living with cancer. Your primary goal will be to assist patients in overcoming healthcare barriers and act as a liaison to understand their individual needs and concerns.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a liaison between patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure seamless care coordination.
• Provide non-clinical support, guidance, and assistance to patients and families to overcome healthcare barriers.
• Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to optimize care and outcomes for patients.
• Guide patients and families to a broad range of services and resources across the oncology care continuum.

Qualifications

• Ability to make independent judgments and evaluate complex issues.
• Strong administrative abilities to resolve complex and sensitive issues with diplomacy.
• Excellent oral communication skills to speak with individuals of varying backgrounds to obtain and convey specific information.
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction and establish cooperative working relationships with physicians, staff, patients, and administrative personnel.
• Working knowledge of medical oncology terminology, University policies, procedures, and forms.
• Computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as experience with electronic medical record systems.
• Demonstrated knowledge of appointment and encountering procedures, insurance authorization and verification process, and ability to analyze information, problems, situations, practices, and procedures.
• 1 year of oncology-related work experience.
