About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Engineer to join our team at Apple. As a key member of our cloud platform development team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and growing our privacy-focused platform.

Your work will impact over a billion users and be essential to the success of Apple's growth in services. You will have the unique opportunity to shape our culture and processes as we continue to innovate and push the boundaries of what is possible.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex problems and invent innovative solutions
  • Evolving the design and architecture to support the continued growth of our platform
  • Developing the next generation of cloud platform that powers Apple Intelligence Private Cloud Compute, FaceTime, iCloud Drive, Photos, Backup, and Push notifications services
  • Partnering with teams across Apple to develop features and functionality to enable new experiences in the Apple ecosystem

Requirements:

  • 7 years of experience building scalable microservices
  • Experience with Containerization and Serverless Technologies
  • Experience collecting high-level requirements and translating them into pragmatic solutions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficient with Java or Go for automation or integration with multiple APIs (RESTFul, gRPC, etc.)
  • Familiar with the following protocols RESTFul, gRPC
  • Experience operating and developing infrastructure and services in public cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
  • Enjoys learning new skills and technologies
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Ability to build relationships with diverse groups of people and varying levels of management

What We Offer:

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $197,400 and $296,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.

We offer a range of benefits, including comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, a range of discounted products and free services, and reimbursement for certain educational expenses. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary bonuses or commission payments as well as relocation.
