Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Prevention Specialist to join our team at Dynamic Systems Technology. This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the lives of individuals by providing substance abuse and suicide prevention training and support.

About the Role

The successful candidate will serve as the Substance Abuse Prevention/Suicide Prevention Trainer and Case Manager, reporting directly to the Risk Reduction Coordinator. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with State Points of Contact (POCs)
  2. Implementing program goals, objectives, and standard operating procedures
  3. Coordinating and conducting Substance Abuse Prevention (SAP) Training for ARNG Units that meet or supersede the requirements in AR 600-85 and AR 350-53
  4. Coordinating and conducting Suicide Prevention (SP) and Bystander Training for ARNG leaders and units that meet or supersede the requirements in AR 600-63, DA-PAM 600-24, and ALARACT 057-2014
  5. Coordinating, facilitating, quality checking, and shipping the Unit Risk Inventory (URI) and Reintegration Unit Risk Inventory (RURI)
  6. Contacting Unit commanders to assist and report outcomes of recommended training of the Risk Mitigation Plan (RMP)
  7. Inputting all Prevention Training into the DAMIS and internal tracking systems
  8. Entering suicides, ideations, and attempts into the ALLURT System within 48 hours of receiving a report and updating the record within 48 hours of receiving additional information
  9. Managing all Substance Abuse referred Soldier cases from initial referral to final disposition stats. This includes coordinating with the Unit Commander, scheduling initial assessment and follow-on treatment as needed, tracking progress, weekly check-ins with Soldier, paperwork retrieval, and documenting all communications and progress within the internal database.
  10. Serving as a member of the Commander's Readiness and Resiliency Council (CR2C) and the Adjutant General's Alcohol and Drug Intervention Council (ADIC)
  11. Establishing and maintaining relationships with community-based providers
  12. Keeping the State resource catalog current
  13. Providing required weekly/monthly reports to the RRC
  14. Assisting RRC with Monthly Status reports
  15. Attending Substance Abuse — Interim Progress Reviews
  16. Assisting SPC with training and coordination as needed
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a Social Science or related field
  • 3 – 5 years of practical experience in the Substance Abuse Prevention, Suicide Prevention or Resiliency field
  • Strong and professional instruction and briefing skills which demonstrate flexibility with various audiences
  • Ability to work a variable schedule as duties require, including some weekends
Compensation

The estimated annual salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000, depending on location and experience. Benefits include health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
