Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary treatment team, you will provide direct clinical nursing services to individuals in a Mental Health environment, working collaboratively with medical staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and support.
Job Description:
- Provide clinical nursing services for individuals, including nursing assessments, injections, medication assistance, PAP assistance, sample medications, re-assessments, TB Tests, labs, urine drug screens, HIV/Hep C testing, and vitals.
- Complete all necessary paperwork according to Policy and Procedure.
- Communicate with medical staff working with individual to ensure coordination of treatment including with PCPs as needed with signed Release of Information authorizations.
- Provide assistance and support in crisis situations, using professional judgement and appropriate intervention techniques.
- Provide education for individuals and their support system on medications, nutrition, health and wellness and general mental health and addictive diseases.
- Actively engage in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings each week to participate in the development of a comprehensive individualized service plan with a focus on recovery for individuals.
- Maintain therapeutic professional boundaries when working with consumers and families.
- Adhere to safety and infection control guidelines; completes Infection Control reports according to Policy and Procedure.
- Maintain the Nursing Office according to Policy and Procedure.
- Work in partnership with the physician/nurse practitioner to provide exceptional services for individuals.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Licensed per the State of Georgia as an LPN or RN.
- 1-2 years' experience with Mental Health.
- Bilingual abilities a plus.
