We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Construction Estimator to join our team at Rockford Construction in Grand Rapids, MI.

**Job Summary:**

As a Senior Construction Estimator, you will play a key role in creating accurate estimates for commercial construction projects. You will work closely with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to ensure timely and budget-friendly completion of projects.

**Key Responsibilities:

  • Create detailed estimates for pre-construction services, including costs for various trades involved in the project.
  • Assist in creating bid scopes for bidding and perform quantity takeoff estimates for all trades involved in the project.
  • Develop and maintain cost history databases and libraries of unit costs.
  • Support Project Managers in key meetings and assist in establishing outline specifications, construction, architectural, and schedule for owner contracts.
  • Value engineering concepts as required for projects and assemble preliminary schedules as needed.

**Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or similar field.
  • 4 or more years of experience in an estimating role with a background estimating commercial, mixed-use, restaurant, hotel, and education projects.
  • Knowledge and understanding of commercial construction ranging in costs from $100,000 to 100 million dollars.
  • Experience utilizing estimating software, such as On-Screen Takeoff, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office Suite, and Bluebeam.
  • The ability to read and understand blueprints and outstanding oral and written communication and negotiation skills.
