Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Orthopedic Practice Assistant to join our team at Brigham and Women's Hospital. As a key member of our orthopedic department, you will provide administrative support to our physicians and staff, ensuring the smooth operation of our practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional administrative support to our physicians and staff, including scheduling, registration, and billing.
  • Act as a super user for our scheduling, registration, and billing systems, providing training and assistance to others as needed.
  • Utilize knowledge of HMOs, managed care, and other third-party insurers to troubleshoot insurance issues and provide accurate information to patients and staff.
  • Assist with training and orienting new staff members, ensuring a seamless transition into their roles.
  • Provide cross-coverage as needed, ensuring that our practice runs smoothly and efficiently.
  • Follow HIPAA guidelines for the management of patient privacy and confidentiality.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum one-year applicable work experience required.
  • Bilingual preferred, but not required.
  • Some additional training in office systems or other post-high school education preferred.
  • Knowledge of practice operations and standards.
  • Understanding of procedures including filing, copying, scanning, printing, and faxing.
