Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism Physician Assistant

This is an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively with a team of Endocrinology Physicians and NPs/PAs, Registered Dieticians, nurses, and Certified Diabetes Educators in the evaluation and treatment of outpatients with a variety of endocrine disorders in a subspecialty endocrine practice.
Responsibilities include occasional consultative care for inpatients with endocrine disorders at Strong Memorial Hospital, and primarily outpatient subspecialty care at Strong Hospital and Clinton Crossing clinics for patients referred to the U of R ambulatory practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtaining comprehensive medical history and performing physical examinations
- Developing differential diagnoses and plans of care
- Implementing diagnostic work-ups and treatments
- Managing medication and communicating with primary referring providers
- Performing and/or coordinating hormonal dynamic testing or infusions
- Interacting with insurance companies to obtain authorization for specialty medications, equipment, or procedures
- Managing insulin pumps and continuous glucose sensor systems to optimize diabetes management
Requirements:
- Master's Degree in Nursing or related field and active New York State license in good standing
- 5 years experience as an RN with one to three years of leadership experience
- Completion of an AMA approved Physician Assistant program, licensure in good standing, and certification as a Registered Physician Assistant
