Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to join our team at Huntington Ingalls Industries. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a roadmap to define and fulfill Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) goals and capabilities across the enterprise.

The successful candidate will generate quantifiable requirements based on customer descriptions, system planning and design, and acquisition logistics. They will also ensure requirements comply with client requirements and Government standards through formal verification methods.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing a roadmap to define and fulfill MBSE goals and capabilities

  • Ensuring requirements comply with client requirements and Government standards through formal verification methods

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related field, or 3 years of experience with a Master's degree in a related field, or 9 years of experience with a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of MBSE goals and capabilities
  • Experience in generating quantifiable requirements based on customer descriptions, system planning and design, and acquisition logistics
  • Knowledge of formal verification methods
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other engineering disciplines
  • Knowledge of Government standards and regulations
  • Strong understanding of Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) and Sensor Open System Architecture (SOSA)

Clearance

The successful candidate must possess and maintain a Top-Secret with SCI eligibility.

Preferred Qualifications

Bonus points for:

  • More than 5 years of experience with systems development, systems integration, systems test & evaluation, and risk management for DoD modification programs
  • Familiarity with DAU SETR Process and DoD Aviation Platforms

Physical Requirements

The role requires working in an office, industrial, or shipboard environment. The successful candidate must be capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances. Lifting and moving materials may be required.
